Michael C. Saqui is the managing shareholder of The Saqui Law Group. He has successful experience in all aspects of employer-employee relations, including union organizing campaigns, union elections, boycotts and corporate campaigns, defending unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, grievance arbitrations, strike defense, and contingency planning. With over 20 years experience, Mr. Saqui has fought and prevailed against many of the biggest and best financed labor organizations in the U.S.

He also handles advocacy and defense in sexual harassment, wrongful termination and complex wage and hour cases in State & Federal Courts, as well as before the myriad State & Federal enforcement agencies.

Will Creger

will2Will Creger is an Associate attorney at The Saqui Law Group. Mr. Creger’s practice focuses on labor and employment law. He is experienced in labor arbitrations, including grievances and employee discipline/discharge cases, unfair labor practice charges, collective bargaining, mediation, and workers’ compensation.

Prior to his employment with The Saqui Law Group Mr. Creger served as general counsel to several large public safety unions. In addition to advising the unions, Mr. Creger litigated civil and administrative cases on their behalf pertaining to the Peace Officers’ Procedural Bill of Rights Act, the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act, the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, and the California Labor Code. He also represented their members in administrative and criminal investigations, disability accommodations, and retaliation complaints. He has prosecuted several writs of mandamus, representing clients before California superior courts, the California Courts of Appeal, and the California Supreme Court.

Jennifer Schermerhorn

jennifer2Jennifer Schermerhorn is the Senior Associate at The Saqui Law Group. She received her J.D. in 2002 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Mrs. Schermerhorn began her career in advocacy while in law school when she chaired the Women’s Caucus and organized a noteworthy fundraising event benefiting local (Sacramento area) disadvantaged women and children and victims of domestic violence. Mrs. Schermerhorn also volunteered her time assisting local tenants with real estate and landlord issues..

Since graduating from law school, Mrs. Schermerhorn has handled numerous cases in the areas of business, real estate, construction, employment, and complex litigation. Mrs. Schermerhorn now uses her diverse legal background and experiences to focus on representing management clients in all aspects of labor and employment law, including matters involving retaliation, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage-and-hour issues before state and federal courts and government agencies.   Mrs. Schermerhorn conducts compliance training seminars and lectures for business owners.

Sean Currin

scurrinSean Currin is an associate attorney at The Saqui Law Group. Mr. Currin’s practice focuses on labor and employment law. Since graduating from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Mr. Currin has represented clients in labor arbitrations, including employee terminations, grievances, unfair labor practices and workers’ compensation cases. Mr. Currin served as general counsel to several large public safety unions throughout the state of California.

In In addition to advising a public safety union’s executive board on labor issues, he has represented officers in administrative and criminal investigations. Mr. Currin is experienced in the Peace Officers’ Procedural Bill of Rights Act, the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act, the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, and the California Labor Code. Mr. Currin has given many presentations to law enforcement officers regarding their rights.

Jorge Aguilar

Jorge Aguilar II is a Senior Associate at The Saqui Law Group. Mr. Aguilar’s practice focuses on Employment Litigation. He is an experienced litigator that has represented clients in all aspects of civil litigation. Mr. Aguilar has extensive courtroom experience and has successfully tried several cases to verdict. He is currently serving a broad range of employers in matters ranging from single plaintiff lawsuits under the Fair Employment and Housing Act to class action suits alleging wage and hour violations.

Prior to joining the Saqui Law Group, Mr. Aguilar worked as an associate at a civil rights firm in Oakland, California representing employee plaintiffs against large corporate defendants such as Chevron and AIMCO. Mr. Aguilar litigated complex and heavily contested cases that received media attention and have been featured at a Harvard Law School symposium. He was responsible for prosecuting cases from inception through resolution and has prepared appeals and petitions for extraordinary relief to the California Court of Appeal. Mr. Aguilar’s experience representing plaintiffs in employment litigation provides him with valuable insight into the strategies and motivations of plaintiffs’ attorneys

Helen Braginsky

Helen Braginsky is an Associate at The Saqui Law Group. She received her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.  Ms. Braginsky’s interest in employment defense began with a clerkship in a Labor and Employment department of a Los Angeles firm, which represented a variety of employers from Fortune 100 to small business owners in the full range of employment law, including harassment, discrimination, breach of employment contract, wage and hour, wrongful termination and trade secrets.
