Executive Order Does Not Impact H-2A Visas

On Monday, President Trump issued a proclamation (available here) suspending entry of foreign workers “who present a risk to the U.S. labor market following the Coronavirus outbreak.” The ban specifically does NOT apply to workers seeking entry to provide “temporary labor or services essential to the United States food supply chain.” The proclamation is scheduled to continue to December 31, 2020.

California Department of Public Health Guidance on Face Coverings

Last week, the California Department of Public Health released updated guidance requiring Californians wear a face mask covering in high-risk settings. The Guidance notes that “[a] growing body of scientific research has shown that people with no or few symptoms of COVID-19 can still spread the disease and that the use of face coverings, combined with physical distancing and frequent hand washing, will reduce the spread of COVID-19.”

The Guidance is available here.

This can be a tricky area to maneuver in the employment context. Contact the experts at Dowling Aaron Incorporated, the Saqui Law Group Division, if you have questions regarding mask policies at work.
